About

The picture isn’t me. I have yet to take a photo I like. The picture is of a symbol I found on the basement wall of my childhood home. I discovered it behind a bookshelf when my family decided to move from Toronto to the country. I have long been obsessed with it. I’ve always thought it to be an ancient insignia provided by witches to protect the house from evil spirits. Some sort of all seeing eye, or something. Though it could just be a ships steering wheel that experienced sun damage over time. But my idea makes more sense.

The above paragraph was a distraction. I did it because I have not been in the advertising industry as a copywriter long enough to share stories of all my triumphs. I can’t talk about the awards I’ve won. I can’t talk about all the agencies I’ve worked at. I can really only talk about my passion, and that’s a love for advertising itself. When an idea comes to life, it’s really a beautiful thing. And when an idea has legs, I feel like Jenny watching Forest run without his braces for the first time, extremely proud.

So, I keep working on my craft daily, creating new ideas, or experiences, while continually learning from others. And then hopefully, I can change my “About” section to more of the things I’ve accomplished rather than the things I dream of.
